(wedding) ryan and julivette

Ryan and Julivette have dreamt of visiting Batanes but never found the right opportunity. That is, until they decided to get married there.

And so, with family and their closest friends, they became one in a small church on the northernmost tip of the Philippines.

Here are a few photos from that day.

They say people change when they have children to raise. And it’s true – they have found a different way to pay forward the kindness of those that came before them.

Aethan Michael is the newest addition to the Angeles family. For a two-month old he’s quiet but observant, eyes darting forth everywhere. The world must be pretty exciting for him.

I think I understand a little bit more why parents don’t want their kids to grow up too quickly.

(travel) other days in adventureland

The second part of the adventureland series – random shots from the other days we were in Batanes.

To recap my experience – met some amazing folks, ate good food, walked around guided only by moonlight, rode shotgun on motorcycles, recharged my soul.

If there’s one reason to go back to Batanes, there’s actually not just one.

Let’s just go back.

(travel) first day in adventureland

I’m blessed.

I found myself going to Batanes with Randall in what would be one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We went to be part of Ryan and Julivette’s wedding celebration. It was a week of bonding and discovery with their close friends and family.

Hopefully I get to tell the other stories from this week on some other day.

For now, here’s how I remembered our first day there.
